Message checked mine years ago when this first became widely known. Pulled the t-rods off and looked for wear/damage on the lca's. They were fine. The car has undergone a few alignments with no issue from a good local alignment shop, and I'm under there every other week or so checking things and that's on my list to monitor.

Last good close inspection was this winter with the engine and new PS rack install. Again, they looked fine, although I never pulled the T-rods off. Brought the car this week to the same alignment shop I've used for years, and the tech said he couldn't align the car until the lca was replaced. He offered to do it (for an astronomical amount) but I ordered one in and R&R'd it this morning. I didn't expect to see this degree of failure, however.

The last visual inspection was underneath at Oregon Raceway in April... I couldn't see any damage which was extremely obvious and visible this morning. I've done two local HPDE events and a small local track day since Oregon, and can only come to the conclusion that failure was rapid and extreme.

I pulled off the PS t-rod, the metal is indented, but not rusted/failed/broken.

I posted this as more of a cautionary note, as this problem has been discussed, but as I didn't see problems with my heavily used, winter driven and tracked car, it was not on the radar as a must-do now repair. Only thing I can add is that even though this setup may be fine for several years, it can degrade and fail rapidly.

Regards,
